Mocha-Java is the worlds oldest recorded coffee blend, primarily because Mocha coffees from Yemen, and Java from Indonesia, were the worlds first commercially available coffees.

The fruity acidity of the Mocha energizes the sweetness of the Java, while the more full-bodied Java helps balance the unique flavor of the Mocha. The result is a wonderful full bodied blend with a natural chocolaty flavor and a smooth creamy finish. Done to a full city roast, the Mocha Java Blend is great in any brew method and makes a particularly wonderful mild espresso.
A long time ago, here in California, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf was a small company with just a few locations. The owners were responsible for my taste buds' education in coffee, and then I was ruined forever. I'd been transformed into a legitimate coffee snob. Their Mocha Java was amazing, and even then, true Ethiopian beans were difficult to get. My heart broke when they sold to a foreign company, their former special care disappeared, and it became pretty much another Starbucks.
I searched for years to find someone who did an authentic Mocha Java blend. I'd pretty much given up on finding anyone locally that could match what I'd become used to. One day I found Armeno online, read their description of their blend, and ordered it immediately. It's the real deal. And I've been ordering it from Armeno for many years now. It never fails to disappoint.
The roast is consistent. The aroma from opening a new bag of beans is intoxicating. I grind them up every morning for my pour-over cup. The Best. I have also made espresso with it in a Breville machine, and I love that as well. Thank you Armeno! ☺
I will start this by saying that I am working my way lb by lb through Armeno's coffees in hopes of finding my wife's and my favorite (not including the bags that are >$25/lb.. i'm sure they're wonderful but i'm not paying that for coffee).
Thusfar I've tried house blend, black and tan, brazil bourbon, and wachusett blend.
The Mocha Java is by far and away the "best" for my wife and I.
The coffee is the most flavorful we've had. You can taste a bit of the sweetness and it's probably the smoothest. (I do NOT have a pallet that can say "oh I taste a hint of dark chocolate from peru").
Because there are so few reviews on here, I want to add my opinion that it might help another.
