Saturday Wine Tasting
Ditch the cold this Saturday, December 9th and join us from 1-4PM for another cozy wine tasting! We'll be offering a new set of seasonal wines for you to sample, along with delectable chocolate creations from Anna Banana's Homemade Goodness. As per usual, this is a free event and we'll be offering discounts of 10% off 1-5 bottles, 15% off 6 or more, and 20% off 12 or more. We'll send out a notification to our email subscribers later this week (you can sign up to be on the list here) once the tasting notes are up on our wine page.
'Tis the Season
Haven't had a chance to try out this year's Holiday Cheer Blend yet? No worries, it's here until the end of January, and we have it brewed most days at the mill for you to sample. This Week’s Toasty Tidbit: Coffee Cupping
As you can see in the example above, much like with wine and beer, professionals have a standard method for performing a coffee tasting in order to get a full understanding of the quality and flavor profile of a particular bean. Though the entirety of the process is quite specific, the gist when actually tasting the coffee is to deeply sniff and loudly slurp the sample, making sure the flavor reaches all areas of the taste buds. Tasters are looking not only for flavors, but judging body strength, mouthfeel, and aftertaste as well.
Though we don't do any public cuppings at the mill, this method is typically what Head Roaster John Parks uses when deciding on new coffees to add to our shelves.
