Cup of the Month - Brazil Legender Especial Peaberry!
Did you know that Brazil produces nearly a third of the world's coffee? As one might imagine, since the country is such a major exporter, large farms are commonplace in the coffee growing regions of Brazil. These particular beans from Legender Especial, however, are produced on a series of smaller farms called Sitios, known for their dedicated farmers and top-quality product.
What else makes this brew so special? Well, this particular bean is a called a "peaberry," A.K.A. a special type of coffee bean that is produced when a mutation causes a coffee cherry to only produce one, small, rounded, infertile seed instead of two seeds that flatten out on one side from being pushed against one another. Making up only a small percentage of a crop, these beans typically offer a slightly heavier body than their flat bean counterparts, as well as an added sweetness.
The Brazil Legender Especial Peaberry is done to our standard full-city roast and offers a medium body. With notes of dark chocolate, whipped peanut butter, and cherry, you can expect a deliciously flavorful cup from the Brazil Peaberry every time it's brewed!
